General Notes: The Mapletown Manor is an Italianate style brick and stone mansion built shortly after the Civil War. The most unique feature of the manor is its four story square tower with circular winding staircase all the way to the top floor and a small wine cellar beneath the tower. The home was built by one of the region’s first medical families, the Whitley’s and Chases. Dr. Chase, who was also responsible for planting hundreds of maples trees all over the city which is known as 'The City of Maples' (Osage, Iowa). The property has a beautiful two story carriage house, all original wood floors and gorgeous woodwork, transom windows, 13 ft ceilings, and a separate maid's staircase. The home sits on 1/2 ace just one block off of Main Street in the all-American town of Osage. The town has many large Victorian homes and lovely quintessential small-town cafes, boutiques, coffee shops and tree lined parks. The Manor is available for filming, tours, private rentals, and seasonal events. There’s also a unique gift shop in the “speak-easy” style basement called the Cellar Shop.
